The USD calculation uses instrument-specific values. Local-currency conversion uses only the exchange rate you enter.

Position details

Enter a positive number of lots.

Use your own scenario or actual execution prices. These fields do not receive live quotes.

02

Optional local-currency view

1 USD = the number of local currency units you enter. No live exchange rate is supplied. Changing the country clears this field.

The USD result remains available without a country or exchange rate.

The starting example is Nasdaq, buy, 1 lot, opening at 29,580 and closing at 29,581. It illustrates the calculation only.

How the estimate is calculated

  1. Buy: closing price minus opening price.
  2. Sell: opening price minus closing price.
  3. Divide by the reference movement, then multiply by the USD value per lot and your lot size.
  4. For the local estimate, multiply the USD result by the exchange rate you entered.

Gross USD result = direction-adjusted price difference ÷ reference movement × USD value per lot × lots

Understand the fixed conversion estimates.

The USD figures for HK50.f and forex pairs quoted in CAD, CHF or JPY use fixed indicative conversions. They can differ from the conversion applicable to an actual trade.

A gross value, before trading costs.

The examples and calculator exclude commissions, swaps, financing charges and other costs. Use actual execution prices for a completed trade; execution differences can affect the result.
